Solution to low-level Drok runners
OK I know I'm gonna get flamed for suggesting this, but it would completely solve the issue of low level characters in Droknars:
Make Dreadnought Drift a PvP *region*. One instance. Everyone plays in the same DD. If you die, you respawn just outside the DD entrance you entered. You can try again, or go home.

I like the idea of a free-for-all area, and it makes friendly relations with guilds so much more important, since you can make deals to have them protect and area, guard you, et cetera. The only problem would be lag, as having a hundred people spamming Firestorm would not be very pleasant. Perhaps divide the PvP area into Districts, so there are only 30-or-so people in each one normally, but you can switch when you please.

if a lvl20 still runs a lvl3 through, you may still have problems stopping him...

Each player would have to make it through alive to pass through Dreadnought Drift. You can be in a party, and work together as a party. But only the surviving characters can pass, not the whole party.
OK the free-for-all-PvP idea isn't a good solution to the problem. (Although I like the idea!)
I suppose this rule would solve the Drok runners issue by itself:
From Beacon's Perch to Camp Rankor ONLY SURVIVING CHARACTERS CAN PASS TO THE NEXT ZONE. If you're dead when the party zones, you are kicked from the party and sent back to BP or CR.
This allows groups to work together, and people can die and be rezed and still zone, but low level people would die so often that it would not be worth the continuous rez's necessary to get them through.

still no solution, because:
the lov-lvl char of the group just w8 be the entrance while the others make their way through it, either running of fighting.
the low-lvl will stay alive there and is therefor teleported with them to the next area.

they can just wait at the beginning of each zone, which is usually safe and creep-free. that way they'll still be alive when the runner enters a new zone ...
i don't see why someone want to stop the running, buying the best armor straight away saves money (specially if you're only using a char to unlock skills). Instead i would put an armor and level cap on low level arena's, rather than only a level cap ...

i would imagine 1 of the new areas will be blocking the way once the update comes out. but i see no problem with level caps on the armor.......

Why is it a "problem"? Maybe A.Net does not consider it a problem, otherwise the easiest and most obvious fix is just to close the door in Beacon's that exits to Lornars. There is absolutely no reason for someone to run down from Beacons towards Lornars unless they are being run (the usual case) or they want an big challenge on their second character (I've heard of people who want to skip the desert do this in a party of 6, but it is almost nonexistant). They don't even have anything to skill cap in Lornars, so it's not worth going through it at all unless you are being run.

why is it a problem?
Its a problem because of people wearing drokner armour in the low level arenas. Other than that your right, its not a problem and its fine if they want to get run there (with me anyway).
But imagine if you a new player, you think hmmmm wonder what these arenas are like then............
And yes i know drokners dosnt make you all that, but it certanly helps.

so what you would have is 7 people dividing the spoils of 1 low level getting run. This isn't very effective business. Currently someone running to droknar will earn about 20 plat per run (add up all the paid parasites) and with a mandatory PvP in dreadnoughts, you would have 7 low levels trying to take on 8 high levels... wouldn't work. Therefore this is an interesting and valid solution... but I think the best solution is to base entry into arenas not only by level but also by armor level and weapon dmg. Also disallowing any elites in the Ascalon Arena (since you can't cap until Kryta)

I started a topic about this and no solution was found. The best suggestion was to have checkpoints on zones that you can't skip to get to droknar or kryta.
Checkpointing Yak's Bend and Beacon's Perch would stop the use of advanced skills and armors in the early arenas.

my big question, about the armor-with-lvl-cap-solution is:
there was an lvl-cap in the beta. why has it been removed?
btw, the PvP solution wouldn't have been realised either way, as it would be too different and expensive to make for just 1 area... forget about it...

So most of you would rather punish all players rather than address the real issue? That's certainly how it seems. I for one have absolutely no problem with someone who chooses to run to Droknars to get the good armor and then enjoy the rest of game without spending a fortune on lesser armors throughout the whole process.
The real "problem" that you all seem to be having is the idiots who get the "best" armor and then behave like punks in the low-level, nearly worthless arenas so they can feel big and important. So address the problem. As many other posters have already said, in this thread and others, simply make it so that when you enter an arena you are given a choice of low-level appropriate armors, rune, weapons, etc., block elites and make everyone be on an even playing field as far as equipment goes.
But seriously, why punish PVE players who only want to play the game with one or two sets of armor? Get real. And, if that really does bother you, then here's another alternative; at least one PVE player has to have ascended or beaten the game before other PVE characters can run to Droknars.
This whole "people who run to Droknars are evil and are ruining the game" mentality has got to stop. It is such a tired topic.
